Has anyone played the Final Fantasy XV demo yet? I played the demo and got to the Behemoth and stopped. I was so into it that I did not want to ruin it for myself when the game actually comes out. I like that all the characters follow you around and comment on things throughout the over world. I have already preordered the game. Can't wait until September!

I actually have the Type-0 demo and the newer one that came out but I haven't tried them yet.
A friend of mine preordered the super special edition of the game but I'm not sure if I'm ready to preorder, especially when I know a few months after release it'll be discounted at game stores.

I guess the type-0 demo is the better one from what I have read. That is the one I have and it is really good. Let me know what you think of it once you get a chance to try it out.

I have only played the Platinum Demo. While I didnt think the demo was bad. I feel like the gameplay was solid and the game is just downright gorgeous. However it just doesn't feel very Final Fantasy to me.

Um it's difficult for me to put into words. Its not that I expect all FF games to use a turn based or ATB system but that is part of it. I mean FF12 still felt appropriate to me. FF15 feels like a KH game to me. Don't get me wrong I love Kingdom Hearts. However it makes me think in order to save time and money SquareEnix built a single game engine to reuse. So essentially FF15, KH3, & the FF7 remake are going to use the same engine which feels borinng and unoriginal to me. Also FF stylisitcally has always felt like crazy fantasy in terms of characters and design. The attempt to make 15 feel more immediately grounded gives me pause. I'm not going to refuse to buy/play it Im just currently reserved on the whole thing.

I played the Platinum demo and it did feel like kingdom hearts. The episode Duscae demo is so much better. You get to use your whole party and you are on a mission to get your car repaired and you have to take down a behemoth. The battle system is a little more complex then what you get in the Platinum demo. I hope the system in the Platinum demo was just to show you the basics because it is a lot more fun in the Duscae demo. The way the experience and level up system is a cool take. You gain experience in battle like normal but to level up you have to rest at certain locations on the map. One of the characters is a cook and based on your inventory they will cook meals and give you bonuses like 75% more attack power for that days cycle. Then there are like one on one missions you can take with other party members to help develop them. It was really good I thought. So do not take what was in the Platinum demo for what the game represents there is a lot more to it.

I gotta download the Nioh demo too while I'm thinking about it.

I gotta download the Nioh demo too while I'm thinking about it. [/br] I get that. I did get the feeling like there would be more to the combat system in the actual game. That being said the adjustments made to the combat system from Duscae are permanent. Things like how the block worked and the changes to Noctus's teleport attack, etc. My concern isn't that the comvat system will be bad but that it will be overused. From what I've seen in Squares other upcoming RPGs they are reusing the same combat system. While the leveling and such may change I just dont know if I'm excited about playing hundreds of hours of combat with that type of system. Again, I want to reiterate that I don't think its bad its just not what I'd like to see in an FF. My tastes are more old school and it's disappointing to watch a series that I have such fond memories of evolve into something I have very little interest in. I guess thats life though, gotta change things to make progress and what not.
