I am reading fantasy and sci/fi myself. Have struggled hard with the George RR Martin books now. Like trying to read fine print on a frigging brick that one..
Otherwise Terry Pratchett is a huge favorit with his Discworld books.
Anyone else on here that reads anything and wanna give a tip? Or simply blabber about books!

My favorite authors are:
Steven Erikson Michael A Stackpole John Marco Sebastien de Castell Brent Weeks
I highly recommend all of their books/series.
Never read Terry Pratchett but I've heard good things.
I know Brent is getting into the Mistborn series right now.
I used to read George RR Martin but when he quit releasing books I said fuck it.

I have the first Steven Erikson book and the small book with three novells. Going to read them soon, (well, soon being a damned relative term, as games and books seems to share cooldown timer...) If I remember correctly he is s Swedish decendant (spelling?!)
The others I have no clue on. Mistborn anything you'd recommend?

I have never read it so I can't say yes or no, but Brent said he enjoyed it a lot so it's probably good.

I will check it out later on then.
Elizabeth Moon, she has written a series of books. The first three is about a girl named Paksenarrion. She refuses to marry the farmboy from the other farm and runs away to be a mercenary. I can highly recommend those books. She wrote some prequels and some sequels too, the prequel is ok, the sequel is yet to be read.

I really got into the sword of truth series by Terry Goodkind. The 6 months after I graduated college I read the whole series.

That are some great books! I fell into the old trap to read before it was done. So there was such a damn long wait. Never finished it, might have to go back!

I love reading books but as I have stated before my time is at a premium, especially during the summer months. So instead I have taken a liking to adding audiobooks to my podcast line up. I am a huge fan of fantasy but have woefully been out of the game since high school. So I'm behind on a lot of modern fantasy. That being said I have been devouring the works of Brandon Sanderson. Mistborn and the Stormlight Archive to be exact. Mistborn is young adult fiction so it's easy to read but has some really cool characters. Stormlight on the other hand is much more dense and involves a ton of world building and I'm loving every minute of it. The thing about Sanderson is that he creates incredibly complex and well thought out systems of magic for each of his works. There's something about the categorization and detailed explanations of how these magical systems work that I love.

I am getting more and more into audiobooks, it is easier to bring a headset with you then a big book.
Have you read Maggie Furey? Books about a young Magician names Aurian. Not any heavy fantasy, but quite easy and still good to just listen / read through.
